Three Card Poker, also known as Tri Card Poker, is one of the more popular variants of poker available at Ghanaian online casinos. The game is played with a standard 52-card deck, and it is easy to learn – even for a novice poker player. Ghanaian online casinos offer a wide variety of Three Card Poker variants, so it's important to understand the rules and regulations that apply in the country.
To start, players must agree on the amount of the ante bet, which can range from a minimum of one Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) to a maximum of 500 GHS. Once the ante bet is agreed upon, each player is dealt three cards face down. At this point, players may either fold their hand or place an additional bet, known as the play bet. If the player chooses to fold, the ante bet is forfeited and the hand is over. If the player chooses to make the play bet, the size of the bet must match the size of the ante bet.
The dealer then reveals his three cards. To qualify, the dealer must have at least a queen-high hand. If the dealer doesn't qualify, players are paid back their ante bet at even money and the play bet is pushed, meaning it is returned to the player without any payout. If the dealer does qualify, players are paid even money for their ante bet if their hand is higher than the dealer's, and the play bet is paid out according to the paytable. If the dealer's hand is higher than the player's, the player's ante and play bets are forfeited.
It is important to note that even if the dealer does qualify, there are still some hands that will pay out more than the even money ante bet. These hands include a straight, three of a kind, and straight flush.
